Tylcen — Storyteller of the Forest

Tylcen, Storyteller of the Forest

With one last glance, Sënka watches Fryx becoming.

Something in him has awakened.

So she leaves, her heart a little lighter.

That is when Tylcen was waiting for her.

He had been there for some time already.

Silent. Unhurried. As if he had always been there.

When she lifts her eyes, he is standing before her.

He does not say hello.

He only says —

I have something to entrust to you.
The forest asked me to find you.

Sënka does not ask why.

Not yet.

XIV. The Bloom

Fryx — Sënka_

Here he is. A flower.
Open. Standing on his stem.

He no longer fights.
He no longer asks why.

He is.

Fryx en fleur

Around him, life goes on.
A small creature passes. Pauses. Then leaves.

Fryx says nothing.
He doesn’t need to.

Fryx en fleur

What he ran from… he became.

Gaïa knew. She always did.

Now, he knows too.

He is here. Simply. Fully.

Spring kept its promise.

Fryx — XIII. What He Was Becoming

She takes the flower.
Their eyes meet.

And something opens.

Between them, golden threads appear.
They spin. Slowly. Then faster.

It’s not her. Not him.
It’s both.
Life moving through them.

Gaïa places her hand on him.
Fryx closes his eyes.

He becomes light. Warm.
His body folds. Focuses.

He becomes a bud.
Alive. Golden.
Ready to bloom.

What he ran from…
was exactly where he was meant to begin.

Fryx — XII. The Flower

He comes back. Slowly.
Head lowered.
The road to her was long.

He sees her. In the distance.
He slows down.

Words… nothing.
They won’t come.

He feels clumsy.
So he picks a flower.

Small. Simple.
He offers it to her.

It’s all he has.
And it’s already enough.

Fryx — XI. The Awakening

He sits by the water. Alone.
Back turned to the world.

He doesn’t want Gaïa anymore.
Not her mirror. Not anything.

He just wants to be left alone.

Then — something comes out.
From his arms. From his mind.

Threads. Long. White. Living.

He doesn’t understand.
He steps back. Pulls at them.
Tries to tear them away.

But they come back.
More. Longer.

His heart races.
Something is wrong.

He thinks he’s cursed.
He looks around. No one.

This is when he needs her. Now.
Not before.

He understands.

He pushed away the only one who knew.
The only one who had seen it coming.

And he drove her away.

Fryx — X. The Departure

He leaves. Without looking back.

Certain she was the problem.

Everything she said, everything she showed —
he rejects it all.

He doesn’t want to hear her anymore.
He doesn’t want to see her.

Gaïa stays. Still. Silent.

She doesn’t call him back.

She did what she could.
She knows it.

Holding him would change nothing.

…He will come back.
She knows that too.

Fryx — IX. The Resistance

Fryx handed the mirror back.
His gaze turned sharp. Dark.

His whole body trembled.
Spikes rising. Closing.

— Who do you think you are?!

— I don’t need your mirror.
I don’t need your help.

— You think this will fix anything?

— You’re wrong. Completely wrong.

Gaïa didn’t expect that.
She truly thought it would help.

But in that moment, she understood.

Showing someone what they’re not ready to see…
only makes them resist harder.

Fryx — VIII. The Mirror

— Fryx… are you sure you’re okay?

— Of course. Why are you asking?

— You’ve been… scattered lately. They say you’re sowing everywhere. You know the rules. The Murmins warned me.

— I love creating. That’s what I am. I don’t see the problem.

Gaïa didn’t want to scare him.
Just to show him. Gently.

So she reached out her hand.
In her palm — a drop. Perfect. Transparent.

A mirror.

Fryx looked.
Images began to form.

Then suddenly — he stopped.

And looked at Gaïa.

Fryx — VII. The Encounter

Gaïa reached out her hand.

Fryx landed on it — like it was nothing.
Like it had always been this way.

They looked at each other.
The silence between them felt… known. Ancient.

— Hey. What’s happening to you?

Fryx smiled.

— Me? Nothing. Everything’s fine.

Gaïa felt it instantly.
Something was off.

Fryx didn’t want to feel it.

A flower in his hand.

As if nothing happened.

Someone comes toward him.

He doesn’t stop.
